Neighborhood Issues
Neighborhood issues come in two types: quality of life issues and zoning issues. As a Top Ten Great American Neighborhood, we are not immune to the occasional neighborhood issue that creeps up when one neighbor is not respecting the laws such that it infringes on the rights of another neighbor(s). This includes a property owner or business which does not obtain the proper permits or follow the proper procedure for construction. Permits are important as they require an inspection at the end of the work so that the work can be verified as being up to code which protects the property owner, the surrounding properties and neighborhood from sub standard work which may harm one or all of them.
Our policy is that we are reactive to complaints and proactive to projects. This means that unless we receive a written complaint with the date, description of the compliant and the contact information of the person submitting the complaint we assume there is no problem. When a complaint is levied, however, we follow our Complaint Policy which attempts to resolve the issue at the neighborhood level in a two step process. If this does not work, the only resolution is to seek enforcement from the city and/or state. In the case of zoning issues, the association will check for the proper permitting for construction as well if the proposed construction is allowed under the zoning laws which are meant to protect the surrounding properties from incompatible uses..
The following are current issues we are working to resolve.
