Washington Square Park Project
Since Katrina, we have taken the reins in repairing and maintaining our beautiful park so that it will remain open for us to enjoy. This entails weekly trash removal as well as repairs to the benches, lights, playground etc.

Save Our Trees
The lack of adequate funding at Parks and Parkways and the wrath of Katrina have combined to create a dangerous situation for our beautiful oaks in Washington Square Park. We have created a fund that will care for our oaks providing yearly fertilization and buck moth caterpillar spraying.

St. Claude Avenue Main Street
This is a State sponsored program to help revitalize urban main streets. Our main street, St. Claude Avenue, was selected for the program and we have 4 years of stewardship from the State to make it happen. Part of the program is to hire a manager to help the program run but the majority of the work needs to be done by volunteers. We need your help. A vibrant, healthy commercial corridor with the goods and services we need is at our finger tips. Get involved.

Faubourg St. Roch Project
The Faubourg St. Roch Project (FSRP) is a New Orleans-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to a holistic revitalization of the St. Roch neighborhood. FSRP is dedicated to sustainability and affordability for St. Roch residents, and a model of urban neighborhood revitalization for others to follow.

Neighbors Meet Neighbors
In response to the arrival of many new residents to our neighborhood and the slow economy that is affecting our businesses, especially our local bars, we have put together a monthly get together for the neighborhood so we can get to know our new neighbors and help our local businesses.

Marigny Crime Prevention
At the Crime March on City Hall many speakers urged citizens to get involved and be a part of the solution. To that end, we dedicated our January meeting to developing strategies and we held a public meeting on 3/3/2006 to introduce some short term strategies and discuss the more long term ones.

Marigny Green
This program was started in response to an overwhelming desire of residents to reduce the negative impact that 21st century living has had on our neighborhood and the world. The goal of this program is to make resources and information available on 'living green' and inform residents on how to get involved in green initiatives. Below is a list of the current initiatives.
