The logo will be reproduced on all Marigny Green’s literature and merchandise. The competition is juried by art professionals. The winner will receive recognition and a lot of swag.

Marigny Green

The goal of Marigny Green is to make resources and information available on living green and inform the residents on how to get involved in green initiatives.

Marigny Green Program is comprised of several initiatives which include Marigny Green ReLeaf, Marigny Green RePlant, Marigny Green ReCycle, Marigny Green ReLight and Marigny Green Cycle. Please feel free to volunteer with an initiative of your interest. Also note, we need volunteers for particular tasks if all the initiatives are of interest to you. For more information or

Marigny Green ReLeaf

  • Marigny Green ReLeaf’s mission is to help provide a greener and healthier urban canopy of trees in the Marigny.

Marigny Green ReCycle

  • The goal of FMIA’s Marigny Green/ReCycle is to encourage the city to restore citywide curbside recycling program that has not returned since Hurricane Katrina. However, there are other options and Marigny Green ReCycle wants your recycling to be easier and more common.

Marigny Green ReLight

  • The goal of FMIA's Marigny Green ReLight is o educate and present information to residents on the importance of energy efficient lightning. This initative is a partnership with Green Light of New Orleans.

Marigny Green Cycle

  • The goal of FMIA's Marigny Green Cycle is to develop a safer and more bike friendly neighborhood and support the goals of the Metro Bike Coalition of New Orleans.

Marigny Green RePlant (plants and gardens)

  • The goal of FMIA's Marigny Green RePlant is to encourage plantings on streetscapes, servitude, private property, and vacant areas owned by the city and to develop community gardens for Marigny residents.
