27th Annual Kelly Marrione

National “Night Out Against Crime” (NNOAC)

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Faubourg Marigny is proud to participate in the 27th annual Kelly Marrione Night Out Against Crime on August 3.

This national celebration invites neighborhoods across the country to strengthen community relationships and raise crime and drug awareness. Communities in all 50 states participated last year by hosting block parties, parades and cookouts.

The Faubourg Marigny will host several parties across the neighborhood to include block parties, festivals, and bar-b-ques. Each event is free of charge and totally unique. Parties are hosted in the streets or in local eateries, and feature free music, guest speakers and games for children. Many of the block parties offer food and refreshments, either free of charge or benefitting local non profits.

These events are so important for fostering community spirit and strengthening relationships between neighborhoods and the local law and government officials that we encourage residents to attend.

Here is a list of the current parties being hosted by Marigny Residents. All parties start 6:00 pm.

Guy Woolley and Mark Stafford ( 2522 Burgundy )
Russ and Angela Carll ( 1820 Dauphine )
John Crew and Gil Rome ( 2125 N. Rampart )
Lost Love Lounge ( 2529 Dauphine )
JohnPauls, Phoenix Bar & Doerr Furniture ( 914 Elysian Fields )
Marie’s Bar ( 2483 Burgundy )
Friendly Bar ( 2301 Chartres )

HOST A BLOCK PARTY

If you plan to host your own block party, please have a representative of your group fill out and return the registration form to the Crime Prevention Office to be placed on the block party list. It’s important that you complete this form so that your local police officers and elected officials know where to find you and your group. Also, please email us at to let us know you are having a party so we may make list and let your neighbors know.

If you know of a neighbor or friend interested in starting a neighborhood watch group in their area, please forward a copy of this form to them and have them send it in. This is a wonderful time to start a new group.
