150 New Trees Planted!

Marigny Green/ ReLeaf’s mission is to help provide a greener and healthier urban canopy of trees in the neighborhood. We provide information and services to residents to help them choose the best trees for planting and to help obtain those trees and get them planted.

Thus far, we have had two active and successful tree planting seasons, for a total of 150 new trees planted throughout the neighborhood since Fall, 2008! The new trees look beautiful and include such species as Savannah Holly, Japanese Magnolia, Sweetbay Magnolia, Crepe Myrtle, Redbud, and Bald Cypress. Activities organized by Marigny Green/ ReLeaf have included disseminating information to residents, sidewalk hole cutting for tree planting, and organizing tree planting events.

We are very thankful to Hike for KaTREEna and Parkway Partners who have provided these trees for FREE to the neighborhood. The forms for future free tree requests from these organizations can be downloaded following the links at the right of this page.
