Do Security Districts improve public safety?

The Office of the New Orleans Inspector General (OIG) found that the presence of a Security District was a significant predictor of lower property crime rates, but not a significant predictor of reduction in violent crime or murder rates. The OIG found that the public’s feeling of safety increased and fear decreased.
