Did you know we already have a Security and Improvement District?

The Faubourg Marigny Security and Improvement District came into existence through legislative action, courtesy of House Bill No. 325, championed by Representative Wesley Bishop on April 30, 2015. Curious to see the genesis of this legislation? You can watch the bill's introduction in this video (skip to timecode: 2:21:50). For the legislative buffs among us, here's the complete journey of House Bill No. 325, from its initial introduction in the House to its eventual endorsement by the Governor. Despite its establishment, the Faubourg Marigny Security and Improvement District has yet to be implemented.
